Scholarship grants of $2,500 each are being offered to high school seniors planning to major in television, broadcasting, or electronic media at an accredited college, university, community college or technical school, for the school year beginning in fall of 2008. The scholarship grant will be used for tuition and fees.
Application and letters of recommendation must be received via mail, email or fax by March 14, 2008. The winners will be announced in May 2008 Winners will be invited to the annual Regional Emmy Awards Gala on October 25, 2008 to be recognized at the event and network with media professionals.
Eligibility:
- Application to or acceptance at an accredited college, university, community college or technical school offering a broadcasting, television or electronic media curriculum. The award is contingent on acceptance for admission.
- Intent to pursue a major in that curriculum and a career in broadcasting or electronic media.
- A solid GPA. We prefer – but don’t require – a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A lower GPA will still get serious consideration.
- Demonstrated qualities of leadership, creativity and passion.
For consideration of this award, applicants must:
- Complete the entire scholarship grant application, including the essay question.
- Have a faculty member fax or send a letter of recommendation directly to the Chapter office.
